Dr Tracey Walmsley
BDS (Birm.) (FDS) (RCPS)
Tracey was born and raised in England and studied dentistry at Birmingham University, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Thereafter Tracey worked at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham, before going on to gain her UK Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDS RCPS) in 1997. Whilst developing her skills in general dentistry, Tracey’s interest in oral surgery emerged and she spent 4½ years practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK.
Tracey is keen on using her skills to help those less fortunate. In 1996-97 she organized and implemented a dental clinic in a regional hospital in Uganda, later training healthcare workers in Nepal. Whilst residing in China for 9 years, Tracey taught undergraduate and post-graduate dentists before settling in Australia. In 2022, Tracey spent some time in a village in Papua New Guinea helping treat the local community. Tracey’s special interest in Oral Surgery mostly involves wisdom tooth removal and complex extractions. Depending on the clinical case and patient requirements, these procedures can either be performed under local anesthetic at Palm Court Dental Clinic or under general anesthetic at the Albany Health Campus or Albany Day Hospital. Tracey has been a committed sportswoman, representing Great Britain in gymnastics, and more recently soccer refereeing.
