Alan was born and raised in Malaysia, then moved to Melbourne for high school. Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Sydney in 1994. Thereafter, he moved to Singapore where he owned and operated a private dental practice.

In 2005, Alan and his wife, Ainee, moved to Melbourne with their three children. Initially working at a community health center as a senior dentist, he went back to working in private dental practice. During this time, he volunteered for the RFDS in its outreach program and the ADA mentoring program for younger dentists.

In 2019, with their 3 children at university, Alan and Ainee made the move from Melbourne to Perth, taking in the sights along the way. They visited Denmark on their trip and loved its unique nature and lifestyle.

In August 2022, Alan and Ainee relocated to Denmark, for Alan to take up a full-time position at Palm Court Dental Clinic. Alan has the vast dental experience and is passionate about all aspects of general practice.

Outside of dentistry, Alan has a black belt in Aikido, is a flight instructor, and enjoys studying Japanese.
