Implants

A dental implant is a specially coated titanium screw that is placed into the jaw bone where a tooth is missing.
The placement of an implant can be performed under local or general anaesthetic depending on the clinical needs of the patient and complexity of the case.

Once placed, the implant heals with great compatibility with the surrounding bone.
After the healing phase, the implant has a component added to it called an abutment onto which a final restoration, usually a crown, can be placed.
An implant can also act as a support for a bridge (spanning one or more missing teeth) or even help support a denture.

At the Palm Court Dental Clinic, we’ll refer you to a specialist for the implant placement.
We have a close liaison with our specialists, and in most cases, they will refer you back to us for the restorative phase.
